Hello, has anyone else now been told they now have to fast before their hbA1c blood test?
I’ve not had to do this before and my GP says it’s a new requirement. I’m wondering why? From the research I’ve done, I can’t biologically understand the advantage of fasting, perhaps because there’s some kind skew towards a higher reading there is more glucose in your blood? It doesn’t make sense to me, so I’d love to find out the answer!
Feel sorry for the poor nurse that has to take my blood on an empty stomach…
