Hi there, and a big welcome to the forum!
It sounds like you’ve taken your diagnosis in stride and are already doing an incredible job - that’s a fantastic drop in your readings, and it’s great to hear that you’re tolerating the Metformin well too. It’s such a lot to take in at first, but you’re clearly being proactive and thoughtful about your management, which really pays off.
This is a lovely community with lots of support and shared experience, so do feel free to ask questions or just check in whenever you need. You’re definitely not alone on this journey and it’s great to have you here!

Hi @Wysiwyg and welcome to the forum. Love your user name by the way.
You are doing great with your blood glucose readings. Are they fasting tests taken first thing in the morning?
Depending on your hbA1c result at diagnosis some doctors are happy for you to manage your diabetes by diet and exercise. A lot of people are prescribed medications to help too.
There is a lot of experience on this forum so ask away if you have any questions.

Welcome to the forum.
Whether those readings are meaningful depends on when you have been testing as blood glucose goes up and down throughout the day and night mainly depending on what you have eaten and how much exercise you do but many other factors as well.
On way to see if what you are doing is right is to test just before eating and after 2 hours where you would be aiming at no more than 8-8.5 2 hours after eating or no more than a 2-3mmol/l increase.
You would be aiming at 4-7mmol/l before meals and fasting/morning reading.
