So I am officially a type 1 or LADA , my gad test was ridiculously high, must say I'm relieved and dreading what's ahead at the same time. Starting Trurapi next week when I can get an appointment with nurse.
Any tips gratefully received. I think I'm going to use good old fashion pen and paper to work out carbs/ bolus ratio. I'm not great with tech.

So pleased for you that you have a definitive diagnosis and will hopefully get the correct treatment and support you need to manage your diabetes well.

It will all gradually start to make sense (apart from the times when it is being awkward and doesn't make sense 🙄 ) once you get into a routine with calculating, injecting and eating. Libre means that you don't have to be quite as accurate with your carb counting, because you can always correct with a bit more insulin later if levels start going up when they should be coming down or have a jelly baby or whatever if levels are dropping a bit too far.

Good luck with it and don't be frightened to ask us if there is anything you get stuck with. We all make the odd silly mistake from time to time, so try not to panic too much if you get things a bit mixed up. We should be able to talk you through it, if you do hit any snags.

glad to hear that you have the right dx welcome to the forum , feel free to tell us as much or as little as you want Remember no question to small to large or to silly
Good luck in your diabetic journey
