Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
I have just been diagnosed as having type 2 diabetes my HbA1c has gone from 46 to 52 since my blood test last February. How bad is this?

You have just risen from the top of prediabetes into diabetic, but you seem to have been detected early in the process - if you are lucky you should be able to slide down closer to normal with some changes in diet - assuming that you have not been doing drastically low carbs already.
 
Welcome dgwinnett. As Drummer said you have crept into the Diabetic range with your latest HbA1c, so now is a good time to start taking action. The condition can be managed using a combination of changes to diet and also an increase in levels of activity.

What was suggested to your u when picked up as pre-Diabetic?
Have you made any changes already.

With a little more information it is easier for us to help you.
