Hello and welcome

Have you checked the Patient Information leaflet for side-effects. Some are considered normal and others you would be advised to speak to a Dr.

Given you are feeling so rough you might think about going to a drop in centre where they could check you over (refer you to a Dr if they think its necessary) and hopefully allay your fears. If there is no drop in centre near you your local pharmacist might be able to help. They understand the effects and side-effects of drugs.

Welcome christinesAndmann
Hope you've checked patient information leaflets and seen your GP by now? How did you get on?

Hi Christine,
Glazed eyes/blurred vision ? that sounds like high blood glucose ( nothing to do with the metformin).
Get a meter yourself and start testing. Don't let them tell you that you do not need to test.
Don't concentrate on sugar - it is carbohydrates your body is having trouble processing ( bread, potatoes, pasta, rice). Sugar is only relevant because it is a fast acting carbohydrate.

Ask to be put on educational course for new T2s such as X-Pert Patient course or DESMOND.
And start exercising, walking etc it is going to be very important for you.
