It's called the Contour Next One (because it's the next one in the Contour series?😉) and offers, amongst other things, direct smartphone connectivity (presumably via Bluetooth or NFC). I've requested a free upgrade from my Contour Next USB; let's see if I get one...

I've been using this meter for about four months now. I prefer it to the USB as it glows red for hypo, green in range and orange hyper which is handy in the middle of the night. Being able to connect via Bluetooth to the smart phone is a great feature however I found I had to keep my Bluetooth on 24/7 which drained my battery. I turned it off and started turning it on sporadically to try sync and sometimes it just never happened so I gave up trying to connect it.

I haven't tried in a while so maybe they've updated that issue. I hope so anyway as it's a great feature.

Does it take standard Contour Next strips? My pharmacy might balk at changing my prescription...

Oh yes, I was worried about that but it DOES use Next strips so my pharmacy need never know lol

I don't know why I said "pharmacy" when I clearly meant "GP practice"... 🙄😉

Sorry to bump an old thread. I've just applied for one of these, mostly because it's free, but I like the idea of using it with an app.

How are people still finding it?

I have a vague memory of filling out a form maybe on Facebook? It arrived later no idea if it was a week or many! But it's here and new and great. I like that it syncs with the phone so I can easily see what's occurring! And same strips as last one so bonus!!
