MUMS-to-be are benefitting from a new computer system at Redditch's Alexandra hospital which has eliminated the need for handwritten notes.
The new electronic system introduced at the Alex, as well as Worcestershire Royal Hospital, allows data such as the baby’s heart beat, the mother’s condition and any other vital information to be entered directly into systems through bedside computer 'portals'.
The K2 Guardian and Athena systems mean information is instantly available to anyone working in the hospitals and it is hoped will reduce the risk of errors while improving care.
