PEOPLE whose organs helped others after their death have been honoured posthumously at an award ceremony.
The new award, created by the Order of St John alongside NHS Blood and Transplant, was presented to the families and loved ones of those who saved and improved people's lives through organ donation.
Relatives receiving the award included Hazel Lacey, of Bingham, whose husband was an organ donor; Angela Henshaw, of Ilkeston, whose mother was a donor; and Dorothy Anne Jowitt, from Hucknall, Nottingham, whose son was a donor.
