At risk of diabetes
Hiya. I've just been diagnosed with prediabetes. I'm using a dieting app that I enjoy but I want to set the limiy amount of carbs/protein/sugar I should be aiming to consume per day. I'm on 1900 cal (got alot to loose). What should I set these at? Any help would be appreciated xx

Welcome @Linda989 🙂 Low carb is anything under 130g per day. Various figures are given for protein, but a common one is 0.8g protein per kg of ideal body weight.
Thanks Inka. That's good to know. At least this can be my guideline. Thanks

Welcome to the forum @Linda989

Good luck with your weight loss efforts. You might like to join in with conversations on the weight loss board, or browse a few threads in the new Remission section and also here

Some forum members who have wanted to kick-start their weight loss have committed to the short term intense Newcastle approach, which uses low calorie meal replacements for a few months at around 800calories per day.

Others much prefer a slow and steady approach of developing a new ‘way of eating’ that will sustain them at a target weight, and allowing any excess above that to come off gradually.

Hope you find a system that works for you. let us know how you get on 🙂

Welcome to the Forum. Good luck with your weight loss. When I cut the carbs I lost weight even though I did not need to.

Many just concentrate on reducing carbohydrates otherwise the task can become too onerous so people are less likely to stick with it long term.
Some ideas in this link which you can compare with what you are doing. https://lowcarbfreshwell.com/
It may be just a matter of cutting out some of the big carb hitters and reducing portions of others.

Thank you. Yes I was getting a bit confused as to how many carbs/protein/sugar etc that I should be having. Like you suggested I'll go down the route of reducing carbs, still watch on the refined sugar etc and see how i get on. Thanks for advise and link x
