Hi Petrie and a warm welcome to the forum, sorry Ive never had any problems with my finger nails well accept for biting them, have you mentioned it to your GP

p.s are you on any medication?

Hi, going to see doc, he not got great bedside manner so thought i would see if it was common.

Oh believe me theres many on here who can relate to rude/insensitive doctors so your in good company,cant stake my life on it but cant recall brittle fingernails been mentioned on here

Welcome to the forum.

My nails can be quite brittle but they always have been so don't think it has anything to do with diabetes particularly.

Maybe there is a little fungal infection going on which may be down to the diabetes though? Are your nails generally discoloured?
