Hello everyone
I was diagnosed back in July but have only just got around to joining as I've had other medical stuff going on. I had my review today Hb1ac is down from 99 to 56. Is this good? The practice nurse didn't really say anything - just that she'd see me again in 3 months

That is fantastic progress to see a reduction of that much in 6 months so whatever you have been doing is working for you.
Getting below 48mmol/mol would be what would be a good target to aim at though that is still above what would be normal which is below 42mmol/mol but it seems the accepted target is below 48 if diagnosed as Type 2 diabetic.
Are you taking any medication.

I'm taking 2 Metformin daily. Morning and evening. Thanks for replying. Sometimes I think the medical profession don't really see the effort being put in!

That's a really good drop - well done. Whatever you're doing keep it up and hopefully you'll see a further drop at your next review.

Well done!

Yep, great result and due reward for your effort. Shame, as you say, that some bits of the NHS can't recognise the value in complimenting a patient who deserves that. But this readership knows!

Well done on your terrific reduction in HbA1c @Jo Morgan

Whatever you’ve been doing seems to be working well!

Keep going!
