Type 2
I am a female aged 69 years. average blood glucose levels r 185. Hba1c test results r 8.1 . Can I have peanuts and nuts to reduce Hba1c..pls.advise

Welcome @husrash 🙂 Are you non-U.K. (you’re using non-U.K. measurements)? Nuts are fine to eat but to reduce your HbA1C you need to look at your whole diet and see places where you can make improvements by reducing carbs.

How long have you had Type 2? Are you on any medication for it?

If you’re overweight, losing weight will help too, as will exercise. Even something like walking will help.

Hello and welcome to the forum.
I'm afraid there are no foods which will actively reduce blood glucose levels, and peanuts are legumes, which do contain carbs and some people find they need to be counted carefully.
There are low carb nuts, but I find they are easy to over eat.

Welcome to the forum @husrash

Sorry to hear about your diabetes.

After 13 years perhaps your diabetes has moved into a different phase? You may find you need the help of additional medication, and to rebalance that with the amount of carbohydrates in your diet?

8.1% is equivalent to 65mmol/mol.

In the UK most people with diabetes are recommended to aim for 48mmol/mol (6.5%) though HbA1c does generally rise as you get older.
