Evening everyone,

Just a quick question. Recently all down the side of my left hand has gone numb and I can't seem to shift it. I went to the GP after a week who said come back in another two weeks. The numbness is still there and it's been 10 days now - should I be starting to worry?

Thank you.

Bob

Well, I'm no doctor but from what I have heard others say this doesn't sound like neuropathy to me Bob. Are you fingers OK? Do you get any sharp pains as well as numbness? Do you get and numbness or pain anywhere else?

Hi bob we can't say for sure as we ain't doctors but as a sufferer of neuropathy it does sound like it may well be what your suffering

To be honest the end of my little finger is really numb as well as the bottom of my hand. The top feels tingly so I guess it's not looking too good!

I am not sure really – it could be I guess from resting my hand on the bike when in gym. Just seems a bit strange that I haven’t shifted it and its been quite a while now. Will make an appointment for next week I think.

I think that's wise Bob. Given your impressive improvements and the localised nature of the problem I'd personally be surprised if it was diabetes-related. Hope it turns out to be something easily treatable 🙂

Thanks Northerner - I have to admit if it was diabetes related I would be absolutely gutted but we will see what happens. 🙂
