For about 4 months or more I have had such awful pain in my legs. I often have trouble getting off the lavatory as my legs are so weak and have avoided leaving the house for a few months as fearful of being unable to complete a journey. My feet feel very hot and my hands and feet get pins and needles. Have had Type 1 since 1977.

What does your GP say is causing it - could it be intermittent claudication?

No. The pain when resting and lying down is quite awful and prevents decent sleep. Just struggling is all as cannot get to GP as cannot get up the road afterwards.

Could you get a house call from Dr?

It is so dreadfully embarrassing - each time one phones one gets a nurse as the few doctors have little time. I have to have a 'late in the day time' as I sleep a great deal and the house is awful. Thank you for your reply though,

Fully understand - coming from 15 months of ill health - house was such a nightmare I turned visiting well wishers away - but the ambulance crew had to attend and I was mortified. Perhaps a neighbour? I help ours - the surgery is a 5 min walk for those who can manage but it may as well be in the next town for those who can't. See if there is anyone who can drop off/ collect you?
