Although it was not neuropathy several times I have had swelling, redness and the tortures off Hell - most memorably in the days after having the AZ covid jab, when for several weeks my lower legs and feet were very swollen, a dreadful colour and so painful but there have been several other times when there were flare-ups and I got urgent treatment from GPs, but I also made sure to keep my circulation moving, getting to the shower and using the hand held shower head to cool my feet, massaging my legs to get the blood flowing, then using warm water - I did BSc Biology so I know which way and where arteries and veins lie.
I was doing it three or four times a day when it was at its worst, but I did get so good that I could see my feet deflating in front of my eyes.
When walking I used two sticks or poles, to reduce the impact. I put in three innersoles and wore sandals with adjustable straps. Recently I made myself some lambskin innersoles and they make my feet feel so comforted.
When at its worst I had to be really careful not to fall over - I took down the shower curtain at one point as I put my weight on it as I swayed out of balance, but perhaps you can get a seat, or there might be rails and hand holds.
