Just waiting to have my bloods done for diabetic review in two weeks. Got to get weighed to but im really nervous.

Hi @Ali11782

I completely get being nervous about your review. Have you been able to see your care team much over the pandemic? I remember at my first appointment since COVID (I didn't have an appointment for 15 months) I was really nervous too as I was convinced that my control had slid after being sat at home for a year! My nurse was very understanding though and made me see all the positives in my control, so don't worry too much!

Let us know how you get on!

I always get nervous before a review. My A1c won’t budge off 8% (you probably already know this from other threads) but the consultant on Monday and DSN on Tuesday (they’re like buses, you don’t see one for 18months...) we’re both very upbeat and encouraging. They couldn’t fault my consistency (it’s been stuck at around 8 % for 10 years, oops).

I hope the results goes well. Do you have the NHS app? I’m able to see my results from GP based tests on there.

I don’t think I’ll ever lose that slight feeling of ‘going to see the headmaster’ about diabetes reviews.

Wanting the ‘official’ results to reflect the effort I’ve been putting in (even if my BGs have done their usual and had a proper wobble in the weeks immediately before the bloods were drawn).

Hope your anxiety subsides @Ali11782 🙂

No but I'll look into it. Doesn't the hba1c take a while to come back?

I think of my review as
- a chance to check things are on target/in range
- a chance to get advice
- a chance for assistance

I don't see it as a test that I may pass or fail.
My diabetes team want me to be healthy and they are there to help me with that.
