My mum has ongoing pain in her feet and legs as a result of uncontrolled diabetes. Painkillers don't seem to be touching the pain and doctors don't seem to be helping. Has anyone else had this experience and what did you do?

I don’t think it’s reversible so it’s a question of slowing the progression and dealing with the pain.
Getting blood glucose under control likely helps slow progression but if she’s not getting joy from her diabetes team then ask for a referral to a pain clinic perhaps.

In the first instance I’d suggest calling the Diabetes U.K. helpline and speaking with them as they’ll know more about treatments and clinical trials etc.

I can only urge you to do whatever you can to get your mother's blood glucose under control - having watched my grandmother deteriorate over a period of years when I was quite young.
