Had a lovely change today. Normally on my days off (Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday) I visit my nonagenarian father but today my sister did an extra shift to let me have a day off in return for me doing one of hers last week :D Met up with a friend and walked round the dam at Newmillerdam near Wakefield, had an all-day breakfast in a cafe (and I didn't turn down the hash brown or the small piece of sourdough toast!) Then we bought ice creams (single scoop 99s) and sat by the dam eating them. I feel like I've been on holiday! Oh and I've done nearly 20k steps to compensate for being a wee piggy today 🙂 Worth all that hard work over the last 12 months to get to the stage where I can treat myself occasionally, but the best thing is that I managed to avoid "accidentally" ordering the steak pie and chips...means I can now trust myself to have a treat without going way over the top!

Good for you! Like you say the 20,000 steps will have countered the extra carbs. Plus a little treat once in while really won't hurt when you are being careful most of the time.

Sounds like a great day x

I've been out rowing today, up to Southend pier and back, about 6 miles, bought myself a pork pie on the way home.
So ,one cancels out the other, most of my treat was protein , as I didn't eat all the pastry case.
Don't know how many oar strokes match a step, nor am I a Sir Steve Redgrave, I don't do that sort of rowing!

..... and we got caught in torrential rain the other side of Coventry, this afternoon. Hey ho, British summertime!

I wouldn't want our British weather any other way, I don't like it too hot, I am not a creature of the Serengeti plains, I am sure I'd get noshed by something or other!

I wouldn't either, I dislike heat and feel very depressed by it!

@Vonny, that sounds like a lovely day out - I can't resist an all-day breakfast

!

I also had an ice cream the other day when we and my little granddaughter were feeding the ducks (other wildfowl are available) in the park. A nice treat now and then cheers you up
