Has anyone tried natural treatment such as cbd oils or anything else which has worked or helped lowering it thanks for any replies joe

Do you mean to improve management of BG levels?

If so, by far the most effective natural treatment used on the forum I would suggest is food. Specifically it’s using a BG meter to discover by experimentation which foods are best tolerated, and then eating foods that individual members find suit their BG best (and which fit into their lifestyle and that they enjoy).

Alan S’s Test Review Adjust framework might give you some pointers https://loraldiabetes.blogspot.com/2006/10/test-review-adjust.html

And if your surgery are reluctant to prescribe you a meter and strips, you can choose an affordable one like a Spirit TEE2 or SD Gluco Navii which has test strips at around £8 for 50.

Thanks for that but I do get test strips with a metre but I was just wondering about cbd oil if it has helped anyone with there levels, because reading a bit on it says can help people with diabetes, I know a lot certain foods do help our diet but finding it hard to keep with the right food to eat thanks again

Hi

I think many people want to believe there is a magic potion which will sort their diabetes for them but it really is about following a low carb eating plan. ie avoiding or dramatically reducing consumption of high carbohydrate foods including bread, pasta, rice, potatoes, breakfast cereals as well as the obvious sugar, cakes, biscuits and sweets and even fruit. That also applies to drinks too. Fruit juice is very high in carbs and beer and cider can also spike your BG but spirits or dry wine are less likely to. Finding low carb foods and drinks that you enjoy is key to the sustainability of low carb eating and that is where eating more fat usually helps. Fat does not spike your Blood Glucose and keeps you fuller for longer, so you don't want to eat as much and that helps prevent cravings.

Perhaps if you give us an idea of what your average day's food intake looks like..... ie what you eat and drink for breakfast, lunch and dinner and any snacks in between we could suggest lower carb alternatives which should give you lower readings to help get you started. .

I have got some CBD oil to see if it might help with an ache in my knee - it seems to ease it so makes walking easier.
