In the thread on vegetables @saffron15 and @Leadinglights , mentioned that asparagus, parsley, celery and celeriac are natural diuretics. Yesterday when my foot was "unwrapped" it was the "wettest" it has been for four weeks. In 2023 (yes it has been dragging on that long) they dried the diuretic Furosemide . It was not particularly successful and hit my kidneys badly (eGFR 68% to 35% but recovered to 70%). . Does anybody know if these natural diuretics adversely affect the kidneys as I am thinking of trying them.
Note: BTW one can only say the my eGFR approximately halved as the measurement is not accurate to that degree. It is similar with the EF (Ejection Fraction) where they quote down to 1% but the degree of accuracy is only +/- 3% or even slightly worse. So an EF of 48% might mean mild heart failure or that the person is at the lower end of normal.
