Racing has been in Ryan Reed?s blood since his father, Mark Reed, was a NASCAR driver.
But then problems with Ryan?s blood ? as in Type 1 diabetes ? threatened to sideline the 20-year-old driver for Roush Fenway Racing.
By taking some precautions, however, such as a blood sugar monitor on his dashboard and a pit crew team member trained to give him shots of insulin, Ryan said he is out to prove that ?you can chase your dreams despite having diabetes.?
