Does anyone bother with the MyDesmond website/resource?

I was invited to join when it became evident that the NHS could only cope with the coronavirus by redeploying resources. In the early days it was a useful additional source of information (though a pale shadow of DUK). Their forum is all but moribund but I received an email notification a couple of hours ago of a new message. It was from someone newly diagnosed who’s been advised to go on a low fat diet, asking for recipes and general help.

I replied briefly that they need to focus on carbs, just to open a discussion. A few minutes ago I received another email to say I’d received a reply. However, when I go to the forum the thread has been removed! Interesting?

Hi I'm not surprised. If you subscribe to Which? magazine have a look at this month's content from an ex-NHS dietician pushing the NHS mantra.

I don’t subscribe to Which? but an interesting form of censorship.

Yup, they’re obsessed with low fat, ‘healthy carbs’ still. I no longer engage with the dietician after a couple of difficult appointments where I got ‘told off’ like a 5 year old for not eating my 2 pieces of fruit a day, and refusing to agree with the Eatwell plate nonsense. Whole team; consultant, nurse, dietician all sing off the same hymn sheet, I prefer to see the practice nurse at the surgery because she snarks at it too.

A very blinkered approach.

I'm lucky as my DN also supports low-carb so we can sing the same tune.
