Every birthday and Bank Holiday since i can remember the family treat was a chocolate eclair (each, before anyone asks) and today is a BH. It was delicious i can recommend Waitrose Belgium chocokate eclair coming in at 13 carbs. Since diabetes diagnosis, the eclair is cut in half. Half with my coffee and the other half next day at breakfast. Just wanted to share that info.Hope you are allhaving a joyful BH.

I like your thinking! Nice one!
I treat myself to a banana every once in a while.... usually when I am a bit too low. I have half then and half a couple of days later with some cream or yoghurt and nuts... Having a treat every once in a while does you good.
Hope you enjoy your breakfast treat tomorrow.

I'm with you Sharron - I love an éclair! Don't regard a banana as a treat, quite the opposite really - except when I was little, cos they were treats then, same as Oranges.

I didn't used to consider a banana a treat either but now that they are mostly off my menu they qualify as one, just like I really, really enjoy an apple now, so much more than I ever did before when they were just everyday items and not as sweet as sweets, so I would rather eat sweets than an apple. Now that I no longer eat sweets I appreciate sweetness so much more and apples and bananas taste heavenly, so I can consider them as an occasional treat and really savour them. Is that a bit weird?

No - just prefer soft juicy fruits but not grapes cos they don't actually taste of anything , in my book. I enjoy strawbs and rasps, those cherries that can be yellow and pale pink, apricots, damsons, blackcurrants - ie juicy but with a tangy flavour rather than just sweet. Yellow egg plums are better than red ones too. Oddly therefore, I do like a William pear! Love a fresh greengage too, never seen in a British greengrocer since I attained adulthood, but commonly seen loose in all French supermarkets - prunes Reine Claude.
