Hi.

Sorry to hear you are experiencing odd sensations in your toes. How long has it been going on?
If it is diabetes related then it is important to look at how well/poorly your BG management is? Do you test your BG at home and if so what sort of readings are you getting?
Is there a particular time of day when you get the tingling? Is it constant or intermittent?
Another question might be what if any medication you take for your diabetes? Something relatively simple like Vitamin B deficiency can cause tingling and nerve issues. A blood test by your BG would easily identify that. Vit B deficiency can be linked to Metformin use and dietary changes (reducing grain products) If you are deficient, Vitamin B injections are usually given as Metformin can sometimes block the body's ability to absorb oral Vitamin B I believe.

If it is diabetes related then improving levels and stability of your Blood Glucose should help, so if you don't monitor your levels at home it might help to start doing so and using that info to tailor your diet to reduce spikes and bring levels down.
It is of course best to discuss any health concerns with your health care professionals (GP or nurse).

Hi mumpat888, sorry to hear about your toes.

Lots of great questions to think about above. I always say this but sometimes symptoms alone can be for a myriad of reasons. It's best to keep an eye on it and see if there's a correlation with your glucose levels.

It's worth checking with your GP if you are concerned so they can rule out any neuropathy related issues.

Welcome to the forum @mumpat888

How long have you been living with diabetes? And can you remember the result of your last HbA1c?

Many people have found the past few years pretty tricky when ot comes to their diabetes management, with changes to routine, and delays to some routine screening or follow-up appointments.

When was the last time you were reviewed by your GP or nurse?

Is the tingling in both feet or only on one side?

Hi there , thanks for your reply . The tingling scared me a bit but after reading your reply I bought some vit B12 , I already take vit B6 with immunity gummies . Also I have been a bit lax with my exercise lately so I've stepped that up and am testing again at home . I gave up because I was getting obsessed with it . My tests at the surgery are fine although nursy upped the Metformin as I'd gone up to 7.4 on the HAB1c . The tingling has gone for the moment , fingers crossed it'll keep away .

You should probably ask for your Vit B12 to be checked as if there is a deficiency caused by the metformin you may need injections of Vit B12 as the oral version will not be absorbed.
