Posted already about my 86+ brother who has been in hospital for 11 weeks in Glasgow. His feet........I dont know to attach from my phone to this BUT they are like Mickey Bikeys........sorry, no offence meant. But they were not like that when he went in. And they want to discharge him Tuesday week !!!!!! To the care of who???? His daughter is horrified and so upset and angry, my sister is raging.....they cannot even put cream on the dry skin until a doctor advises. Wirds fail me. ......sorry, a rant.

Hi @EMcKT you rant as much as you want, we all need to at some time or another.

The care and treatment doesn't seem to be that good, you could approach the local PALS team to see if they can help, but I think if it was a relative of mine I wouldn't allow them to discharge him, until he could reasonable care for himself.

Family are in the nursing profession, pals has already been rattled, no way is he getting discharged, wife is in a wheelchair already. Its just a mess and a total lack of professional care.

I had the same problem with my mother, they wanted to discharge her, when I knew she was not fit to be discharged.

All I said to them was "if she can walk to the nurses station (10 yards at best) I will take her home, we got her out of bed and she just stood there, totally unable to move.

It was another week before she came home

You just have to be firm, but in a constructive way

Sorry to hear about your brother’s experiences @EMcKT :(

And sorry to hear about the impact the situation is having on your family.
