My diabetic battle rages daily

Struggling to give myself some care

I’m a victim of my own temptation

I have these things because they’re there

Daytime, night time, they keep calling

Cupboard door is there, unlocked

I load it up, for the munching monster

It’s all my own fault they’re in stock

Let’s start thinking, you need to hold back

Don’t put them in your diabetic lair

Those cupboards hoarding sweet temptation

Are only filled because you put them there

Take charge of the diabetes teases

Save yourself from dipping in

They’re only there because you bought them

So that’s the source, where we begin

Look to where the problem started

You victimise yourself much more

Be a strong diabetic while food shopping

Don’t put temptation behind your cupboard door
