not sure I entirely trust the readings on my new meter...since it arrived numbers have been good...much lower...without any real changes to my routine (apart from some chocolate late at night...Kit Kat...Milky Bars...please do not follow that example)...haven't made anymore effort...roughly the same amount of walking...sometimes a little less...been in the 4's a few times...nothing more than mid fives the last few days...this morning a flat 5.0...so...tested on my old meter...a 6.1...I know there can be slight variations between different meters...but...I have my 'suspicions'...am I being lulled into a 'false sense of security'....paranoid or what?

I can get that variation by testing on different hands, I always take the lower reading lol. Have you got the same make of meter??? You do love your kit kats and milky bars don't you, I don't eat a thing after dinner maybe I should try a chocolate bar I might get better numbers in the mornings 🙂

Blimey Barbara...don't follow my example...not really a chocolate lover...(hears shrieks of horror in response to that)...just tried a Kit Kat a couple of nights ago...hungry...even on old meter had a reasonable result...did it again...same again...likely been due to some other factor...have a completely different meter now...since I've been using it...levels have been better...even if I take an average of the two...still in the 5's...just mystified by my numbers after what I would usually consider an absolute No No...chocolate at any time...particularly before sleeping...I may resist this evening...have none...see what tomorrow brings😱😱😱...

ps have spare testing kit...if of any use to someone...pm me!

Do you have any control solution to check your meters are working properly? When I swapped to my newer meter, I still used the old one too just to double check it was similar. There were obviously a few differences so I just went down the middle and used the average.

You can get two different readings from even the same drop of blood so I wouldn't worry too much as you do have to consider meter accuracies. My Contour Next consistently read lower than my old accu check meter
