Good evening everyone,

My husband has received the letter from the DVLA to say that the medical enquiry's now completed and that they have asked for his driving licence so they send him a new medical-review driving licence valid for 3 years.

He has a question - can he drive whilst waiting for new driving licence?

Many thanks and kind regards,

People who are waiting for their new licence can drive under what's known as Section 88 of the Road Traffic Act if they meet the criteria, and the DVLA should have told him that. Our son is doing so as his 5-year licence expired on 1st August and his new one hasn't arrived yet.

Suggest you Google Section 88 RTA and check the criteria.
