HI friends,
i am due my 3 monthly test, the nurse said i never need to fast before a blood test again,
so how can i get a true reading to compare to the last one i had?
plus i am due my cholestral and anemia check,
You don't need to fast before HbA1c tests as whatever you have eaten that morning doesn't have any significant impact on the result 🙂 So don't worry, it will be a true comparison! Hoping for a good result for you! 🙂
thanx Rob and northerner, thats cleared the Hba1c up for me, but that about the cholesterol? any ideas plz?...i am just going by what the nurse said...never have to fast again for blood tests. i might have to check she meant cholesterol too xx

I have been told for years there is no need to fast but every time I have something to eat before the blood test I am called back a re-test!!! I just find it easier to book the earliest appointment, fast, get the bloods done and then have breakfast in work.
In my mind, it is like for like test/results and fasting doesn't bother me that much.
