Hello everyone,

This is my first post on here, tried yesterday but for some reason lost my post. A little about me type 2 insulin dependent, type 2 for about 10 years but only on insulin for one started last May. I do have other long term illnesses that test me at times, in all I have 5, no not being greedy, would love to get rid of them all if I could.

I love photography and submit my photos to my flickr pages and my blog, photography is my therapy. I also volunteer with disability groups and sit on the NHS Stroke Working Group in my area.

If this the wrong place to post this information someone please tell, so I get things right as in no way do I want to upset anyone, by getting things wrong.

That's all for now, please everyone enjoy your day.

hello nd welcome to the forum. I hope you find all the help and support you need. We are a friendly bunch.

Hello, lovely to 'meet' you!

I know what you mean about collecting conditions - I'm very fortunate that so far mine have been fair minor &/or transient in the worst symptoms but it does feel a bit like medical bingo sometimes, doesn't it?! 🙄

Hope you have a good day too. 🙂

Hello ArchiesDream

Welcome to the forum!

Good to have you here. How is your diabetes treating you? Are you on any medication for it? Do you have any particular challenges managing it in combination with your other conditions?

Mike

PS I've moved your thread to the 'Newbies' board - not because you did anything 'wrong' but just so that you get a proper welcome from everyone. Things can move quite fast on the general board and your thread might have got buried!

Hello again, photography is a lovely hobby to have and a friend said to me not long ago (because he knew I'd got a new camera) "why aren't you out taking photos?" I replied that unless I went somewhere scenic there was nothing to take photos of! He told me off (in a nice way) and said look around you - look up at trees, go for a walk along the canal, look at buildings around you - I think he was trying to say - open your eyes and see the beauty and interest that is there. When you have a camera with you I think you do look round more. I think everyone should have a hobby.xx

Hello everyone, thank you for your kind comments and advice, I am slowly read other sections and I do mean slowly, somethings I have to read 2 or 3 times to take it all in. 🙂 Thank you for moving my post into the right section, that was so kind, and telling me the different ways to find it.

Mike, (everydayupsanddowns) I am doing great with my diabetes since going on Insulin, find it hard to understand carbohydrates at times with all the misleading labels we find on tins and packaging.

Twitchy, love the term medical bingo, made me laugh, thank you.

Northerner, thanks for directions.

Flutterby, Yes as your friend said photos can be taken of anything, my cameras are always with me, some of my photos have been used for advertising, but mainly they are my therapy, have helped no end with my left sided stroke.

Bye all, and thank you all again. 🙂
