This is what wifey made for me. 85% choc filled with mini truffle eggs.🙂

That's impressive. Having tried making my own in the past, I know what skill and patience your wife must have!

Apparently it took a whole day to make. You have to brush the mould with chocolate several times, allowing it to set between coats. There are 6 coats on this. Used 6 bars of chocolate including the truffles.😱

She must really love you Mark

🙂

A labour of love me thinks.
So have you eaten any yet and what does it taste like.

I'm saving it for tomorrow. Got to go & pick up mum in law soon from the train station. Got a home made mint choc cheesecake to get through todsy.🙂

That's the blackest egg I've ever seen...can I have a bite? :D

What an amazing egg!
Definitely a labour of love.

And a happy Easter to you Mark by the look of that egg

I have the Lindt 99% dark chocolate - 3.8 bars if anyone is interested, lurking in my treat cupboard. It's disgusting. It dries your mouth out. I tried melting some, mixing with double cream and some artificial sweetner - still disgusting!

Your wife is a star making you that egg. I had my OH mini Kinder egg which came with the bill at the meal we went for last night!

Wow Mark - if that isn't true love i don't know what is 😉 your OH is a very clever woman (and patient - 6 coats choccy🙄) hey.....i foresee a second income here! Your lovely wifey could make a mint making eggs like this for people with diabetes 😛 and similar other various sorts of chocolates seasonal or otherwise
Have a HAPPY EASTER with your OH Mark. x

Actually, WL, that did cross my mind too. It's difficult to get hold of high content cocoa Easter Eggs. Could be a future venture.🙂

The highest I can happily eat is 85%. I don't mind 90% but 100% is too much for me.

Ooh looks lush Mark, hope it went down nicely 🙂 Incidentally the only way I found 100% coca solids palatable was with a glass of red and cherries, otherwise it made the roof of my mouth crinkle, I'm a dyed in the wool dark chocolate fan always have been, but the 100% hotel chocolat version brought tears to my eyes 😱. The red and cherries combo was a pre diabetes incident with my ex partner and a couple of friends who brought the chocolate because of my well known deep and overpowering obsession with dark chocolate (it's a thing!), it ended with hysterical laughter and far too much consumption of the red just to be able to swallow the incredibly expensive chocolate....them were the days 😉

I hope Mrs P gets a nice breakfast today for all that effort, above and beyond I'd say 🙂
