So sorry you and she are having a difficult time and she's not feeling well. It sounds like the health team are looking into things. Hopefully they will find a way to help your daughter feel better soon. It is all very confusing at first, but i'm sure yoou will get support form other parents out there.

Hi,
My son is 11 with type 1. I dont really understand why the hospital dont know whether your daughter is type 1 or 2? Do you know what sort of levels her blood glucose was when in hospital? Whichever type it turns out to be, it most certainly is not the end of the world! When will you expect a proper diagnosis? This is the right site to be a member of if it turns out your daughter is diabetic as there are some lovely people who will help with any question you/your daughter may have.🙂 Bev

Hi there
Im sorry that your daughter is not to well at the moment, but im positive your health care will provide the best possible care for her and her diagnosis, Unfortunately I cant say ive heard of the new strain, but am sure some one on this forum will be able to.
My son was diagnosed type 1 in feb 07. like you i felt confused, scared and in a blind panic..all of which i feel is a natural reaction..
Yes there is hope for you and your daughter, i can honestly say that hand on heart as a mother.
Keep strong

Hi, I was initially dagnosed as type 2, then it was decided I was type 1 (or type 1 and 1/2 as my Diabetes Specialst likes to put it, because I don't fall neatly into either catagory. However, he says for all intents and purposes I am a type 1. Perhaps it may be the same for your daughter, and as the others say, I'm sure they will work out a way of making her feel better. there are some rarer types of diabetes, and I'm sure with further investigation, you and she will find out what kind she has. Just keep asking for help if she keeps feeling ill. Good luck!

it's far more complicated than people might think, but the important part is that your daughter is being monitored and treated. I wish you both well, and welcome to the site!🙂

welcome to the site,

Could your daughter have monogenic diabetes? that is sometimes difficult to diagnose in children as it isn't type 1 or 2?

I hope that your daughter is getting the right care and treatment
