I'm not sure why but over the last couple of weeks my overall BS levels have risen. I'm doing plenty of excercise and i eat healthy so what is causing this? will they go back down again or is this the start of my diabetes 'progressing'? I'm due to get my HBAIC results on Tuesday so will mention this to the DN & GP. Has anyone else on D/E noticed this happening to them?

This happened to me and unfortunately it meant going on the dreaded metformin. Hope you'll be OK without.

it may well be that u have to go on macfarting What are your levels like now

Well, my FBG levels have risen, they used to be in the upper 6's but now are in the 7's (highest so far 8.4). My pre-meal readings are hitting high 6's to a 7 and my 2HPM ones are now in the low 9's (they used to be 8.5 or below). I'm excercising like a trojon going to the gym every day in my efforts to lose weight so not sure what is going on. Will have words with the DN and GP. I hope i can stay off the meformin for a bit longer

I'm all for doing your best Carina and don't think one should just accept meds without trying whatever you can yourself, first off.

But you do sometimes just have to accept that despite your best efforts, your body now needs some help. Don't cut off your nose to spite your face, in the long term it won't do you much good at all.

If you are into "carb management" already shall we say, then you probably have a better chance of less side effects from Metfartin. It's also supposed to assist weight loss and be cardio-protective so if you do find you need it and the side effects aren't too bad - and they are sposed to wear off once your body gets used to them - then far as I can see, you should be onto a winner anyway?
