Hi
I'm having a problem, in myself I feel fine but I can not stand up of a chair etc without using my arms, I can only walk at a certain speed and can n longer jog/run or walk fast, after I have walked about 100m my legs start to ache and I get a tight muscle in my chest. the Dr has ruled out heart problems, m lungs are now fine (I had severe lung abcess in april) I'm back at dr's in morning for more test results. just want to be able to do exercise to keep fit.

My 7 day bm ave is 8.3

Don't suppose you are on statins are you?

I hope your doctor has some more ideas to check when you see them today. As Vic mentions, muscle problems can be caused as side effects of statins and other medications, so it might also be worth asking a pharmacist for a medication review.

Your symptoms sound very similar to mine when I embarked on my motor neuropathy journey, but there are multiple possible causes. (If I were to list them, they would fill half a page).

If all blood tests are normal, with normal renal function, the next level of investigation should be neurological.

Let us know what the doc says.

Hi,
Well.. the upshot is they have o idea. my LFT and kidney tests are clear, and of the ones left the results the dr was exeting to be high where normal, but I do have low Iron levels. my joints are stiff bt the inflammation test was negative. ive been reffered to a muscle specialist, and she asked for my next diabetic appointment to brought forward.

Ah, when I'm Anaemic (I seem to be on permanent FerrousFumerate ) I get very weak .
Now obviously I can't say if this is the cause for you, fingers crossed this is all it is with you.

I have been getting muscle weakness in my legs too. I have been home a couple of weeks after spending 6 weeks in hospital not doing much or being as mobile as I'd like. I have asked for an OT assessment in my home to help get things sorted and will pay a visit to the doctor. Not being able to walk very far is making it hard to go to places like the bank or the shop across the road.

I'm having the same thing. Waiting for neurologist appointment.
