A MUM from Chelmsley Wood - who needed a hysterectomy at the age of 19 after hospital staff missed FOUR opportunities to diagnose and treat an infection - has received a five figure pay out

Despite the settlement, Hayley Sanders said she has never received an apology or an explanation from the Heart of England NHS Foundation Trust, following the events in 2009.

Hayley, now 23, was left with no choice but to undergo a hysterectomy after she became ill following the birth of her son Jayden at Heartlands Hospital.

Law firm Irwin Mitchell found that hospital staff performed multiple internal examinations where bacteria would have been passed to Hayley internally but then failed to act on four high temperature readings during and after her son?s birth by emergency caesarean.
