HI all, We are moving to UK from New Zealand at the end of the year with my son who is 7 and diagnosed 3 yeas go. Just really looking for some contacts in the East Midlands, Northwest Leics area so I can work out all the transition stuff. He is on an Animas Vibe pump. 🙂

Welcome to the forum, itsmejude. Several replies already in your thread in Parents. You'll need to register with a GP, who will issue prescriptions, and ask them to refer your son to a paediatric diabetes clinic. Also seek welfare rights advice about applying for Disability Living Allowance for a child.

Do you get instant access to all of the NHS when you come from New Zealand? - the free scrips etc.

Aha - actually I think I've answered my own question - providing you still have UK citizenship and can prove 'habitual residency' - then you apparently qualify for everything you would have before, anyway. Good.

Hey, just thought - do you actually OWN the pump, or are NZ like the NHS, who only loan us our pumps?
