Hello there, I currently live in Essex and receive top notch diabetes care for my daughter from Basildon Hospital. We are moving to Hastings East Sussex soon and have found out that the local hospital, (The Conquest), does not have a dedicated Diabetes Paediatric Team, they suggested I find a GP with an excellent Diabetes trained nurse in the area....does anyone know one?!! Please help if you can I want my daughter to continue getting first class care and would appreciate any recommendations/suggestions you may have. Thank you.

I'd warn you off the Paediatric team in Eastbourne as I was once a patient of theirs. The adults team however, is brilliant. I believe that one of our users, Adrienne, takes her child to a London hospital as the team that's local to her is pathetic. What I will say for Eastbourne is that our nurses are brilliant, one is even a type one himself.

Hope this helps,

Tom

OMG god save us from the conquest in hastings i am not been succesful with brighton i only have my GP that really help me with graham and the school blacklands dont even go there so really not a lots of luck here adrienne and other mums go to london i am lucky with graham school but we are in bexhill how old is your daughter? c u and good luck

even if you move i dont think you have to move the diabetic care especially when here are so bad i think is a valid justification to your team

Hi Allytan, welcome to the forum.

Great to hear! Where did you go for your child's treatment? Under Patient Choice you can choose to be treated anywhere you like for their diabetes care.

Welcome to the forum Allytan. Can't comment on child treatment but I would like to wish you all the best in your new home xxx

Welcome to the forum.

Hi Allytan and welcome to the forum🙂
As you have no doubt already seen, 'tis an excellent place for advise and support!

This is an old thread and Allytan hasn't been around since (I believe).

I'll close the thread to avoid any further confusion.

Andy
