Hi everyone
My husband has been offered a job in a different part of the country. It’s a once in a lifetime thing and too good to turn down.
I attend Manchester diabetes centre and the eye hospital regularly (avastin injections).
The area we’re looking at moving too has a pretty poor record for health care (the local hospital has been at the centre of some negative media recently)
I am more than happy to travel for treatment.
Do you know, or have experience, if I am entitled to keep seeing the teams in Manchester? Do I actually have to leave my GP? I am just scared about leaving behind great care for pretty substandard treatment. Any experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Should be OK with hospital as many people travel outside of their region. Think with GP surgery you will to look for new one as you must live in locality of a surgery.
Thank you for replying. I do know of people who travel but I worry it’s always open to change, a reform of the NHS or something

Well my wife has been under a hospital that is 60 miles away, she was first seen there in 2001.

Suppose anything can change but with long waiting lists & patients now being given freedom of choice to which hospital they are seen in I really don't think things will change anytime soon.

That’s reassuring, thank you
