Hi I’m T2 & been on metformin for several years but I’ve been struggling quite a bit resulting in high HBA1C.
So now my GP has prescribed Mounjaro injections once every week.
I just wondered if anyone else that has been taking this would mind sharing your experiences with me please.
I’m aware it can cause weight loss which I’ll need to be mindful of because whilst I’m not hugely overweight I’m not stick thin either.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Thanks.

Hi @Barley2 welcome to the forum (from a fellow Mounjaro user)
I’ve been taking MJ for about the last 6 months now without any problems, it’s been a great help to me, it’s allowed me to reduce my insulin and ultimately loose weight and get a better Hba1c where other medications wernt suitable/ unavailable

how high was your Hba1c ?

If your situation did not improve with metformin I wonder what dietary changes you made as that would be just as important as the medication. Many GPs do not emphasise the importance of diet so people end up on more and more medication.
What is your HbA1C as many have reduced their blood glucose from quite high levels by adopting a low carb approach so maybe there is something you could look at there. This link may help. https://lowcarbfreshwell.com/

Welcome to the forum @Barley2

Sorry to hear about the rising HbA1c :(

We have a few members who have tried Mounjaro, and several of them have found it very effective.

As always it helps to get the balance of meds and menu right for you and your individual diabetes.

There are some threads mentioning Mounjaro, and others sharing their experiences of it here:
