Hi,
This last week was my 5th week on Mounjaro, and my first on 5mg.
It has been a tough week as the difference between 2.5mg and 5mg has been challenging. The increased dose left me feeling off colour for four days; nausea and fatigue being the main issues. The appetite suppression was also quite profound for those four days and I greatly struggled to eat anything. So I ended up under-eating most days last week. I’m not concerned in the short term, but obviously this would not be good over a greater period of time.
I think it will be a case of getting used to the new dose and working hard to ensure I get enough nutrients in.
I lost 4.4lbs over the last week. Whilst on one hand this is great, it is obviously too fast a rate to be healthy if it continues like this. So I’m not celebrating it yet. I’m hoping that this fast rate will come down as I eat more.
However, I am now 2st 9.8lbs down. I’m starting to see visible changes on my body - my belly is less pronounced and I can see my legs starting to shape up from my efforts at the gym. My physical strength is increasing - I went for a stroll around my favourite woodland park near to me and noted that I am able to do the hilly walk much easier than previously. I am also able to walk briskly without back pain. This alone is a huge relief, as I had spent couple of years suffering with an anterior pelvic tilt, causing pretty extreme pain when walking. I received physio for it last year and have been working on strengthening my back since then. To be able to walk pain free is truly a beautiful thing.
Clothes are a little looser and my gut isn’t interfering with the steering wheel in my car.
I shall persevere.
