Mounjaro Monday - Week 25 update

Hello,

Week 25 on Mounjaro saw me lose 2lbs - enough to hit the 80lb milestone!

However, I am currently up about a pound and a half - so the fluctuation fairy has been doing her work. As per usual, it’s probably a mix of exercise, the heat and a little muscle gain. I’m not worried and for my records, I’m still counting it as 80lbs off (because I make the rules haha!).

Exercise is going good. I had a week off. So was able to get a fair bit of exercise in on the days when it wasn’t too hot. Monday and Tuesday were way too hot for me - I really don’t like the heat. The gym has been. Very sweaty affair - I really wish my face didn’t go bright red and pour with sweat like it does. It’s a good job I don’t go there to find a man because I look insane! Plenty of water and electrolytes help though on workout days. I’m now leg pressing 277lbs x 30 for 6 to 8 sets. That blasts away the calories like nothing else - My quads are getting pretty solid. I need to work out a way to slim down my calves. I have very thick calves with a lot of muscle thanks to years of dragging my fat body around. I am probably just going to have to be patient and wait for the weight loss to shrink them a bit. One thing I am definitely noticing is that my endurance levels are increasing. I can dash up flights of stairs without thinking about it. I can walk at a much quicker pace for longer without feeling like I’m going to blow steam out of my ears. On yesterday’s post gym walk I honestly felt like I could have broken in to a jog. I didn’t - but I felt energetic and happy to push my pace up.

I am thinking about doing the couch to 5k thing on my walking pad over autumn/winter. We shall see - I need to lose more weight so I don’t risk blowing my knees out.

Mounjaro symptoms have been nothing this week. I’ve just taken shot 26 and it’s just such a normal part of life now.

Physically, I am noticing changes. Clothes are definitely loose. I can see a real difference in my face, chest area, décolleté. I’m still waiting to get my ‘Ozempic face’ lol.

Mentally, it’s still the case that I am much more motivated to push myself. The compulsion to get moving, push through the discomfort and do better is there and I suspect is now a permanent feature!

I have rambled on way too long again - so I will wish you all a great week and sign off.

An inspiring in read @Katetype2 . Great that your new attitudes and the weekly jab are now just part of your new normal. On to your next target. Well done.

I have said it before and will say it again - you are inspirational.
As for finding a man in the gym (not sure if you would be looking anyway), if they were interested in you, they will have noticed your progress and not care about your red face or "glow". If they were, they are not a man worth worrying about.

A very inspiring post @Katetype2 and good to hear that your energy levels and endurance is continuing to improve.
My friend did the couch to 5k a couple of years ago and was struggling to meet her daily target. She lives in the country so lots of nice walks. I checked her data and discovered she was aiming for a target of 5 miles not 5 kilometres. She was thrilled when I told she had achieved her target several days ago.
Your self motivation is to be applauded. Well done on reaching your 80lb milestone!

80lbs down!!! Amazing. Hope the fluctuation fairy floats away and you can consolidate that loss.

Great to hear your motivation is still so strong too :starstruck::starstruck::starstruck:

80 lbs weight loss is absolutely unbelievable going especially given you’ve probably gained a fair bit of muscle too. Nice one :thankyou:

Another well done, sorry I must of missed this thread earlier in the week. You are an inspiration, as for couch to 5k, I started it back in spring 2018 at well into my 50s age wise and overweight, I have gone on to run 1/2 marathons so give it a go, but if you don’t enjoy it as much as the gym, remember it is fine to say it wasn’t right for you.
