Mounjaro Monday - Week 23 update

Hello,

I hope you are all well and surviving the heat wave.

Good result again this week with another 2lb loss. There is some fluctuation going on - gym and heat being the main culprits.

Gym is going really well. This week I managed to shave 5kg off my machine assisted pull ups. For those not familiar, you kneel on a platform that has a counterbalance weight attached and you pull yourself up like a chin-up. I was using the machines maximum of 100kg for the counterbalance - but I’ve dropped to 95kg so I’m no longer maxing out the machine. May not sound much but I’m super pleased with that.

Mounjaro wise, I haven’t got too much to report other than the usual bit of constipation. I’m trying to up my water intake this week, which should help.

I’m clearly in a weight loss phase at the moment, but I haven’t been reading up on the scientific theories around having a weight ‘set point’ - really useful to read up on because it explains the science behind plateaus and how they’re an inevitable part of a weight loss journey. I’ve also been reading up on trying to build muscle whilst losing weight - and of course how diabetes fits in with it all. I would always encourage anyone to continually research diabetes and health as part of their journey - I try to read a little something daily to up my knowledge and keep my motivation high. There’s always something new coming out about diabetes and Mounjaro.

A few nice ‘non-scale victories ’ this week. Firstly, that I am now able to wear rings that I haven’t worn for a long time. Also, I noticed today that the dress I am wearing is getting quite loose - last year, I couldn’t get it on. Finally I can now really see the difference in my face - I will post below a picture from today vs June last year.

That’s all for this week. Thanks as always to everyone who reads, likes and comments on my posts. I am still terrible at getting around to replies.

Have a great week all.
