Hello,
I’ve completed my second week on 2.5mg of Mounjaro. Much more success this week - I’ve lost 3.8lbs bringing my total weight loss since 18th November to 2st 0.8lbs.
I’m now firmly under 300lbs - currently at 295.2lbs. Very happy with that and beginning to wonder if that will be my very last time as a 300+ person… The thought of that is tantalising.
I think I have had some appetite suppression this week, but it’s hard to ascribe it to Mounjaro alone as I have also been highly stressed with work. Not having the greatest time at the moment and I think that has also led me to under-eat on a couple of days. Nothing major- I haven’t starved, but I did go under 1000 cals a couple of times. I am doing my utmost to ensure that doesn’t happen too often. I’m making a conscious effort this week.
No side effects that I have noticed. Everything seems to be OK, touch wood. Did not feel the last jab at all as I was a lot gentler doing it - first time nerves made the first one a bit ouchy.
Gym is still going Ok. Only managed twice last week though so need to get in at least 3 sessions this week.
A couple of things I’ve found I like this week. Protein coffee by Bulk - I drink the black one. Really nice and very helpful in getting enough protein in. Also, my Renpho body composition scales. I like to see what’s going on inside when I weigh myself - if my muscle mass is increasing, if fat is decreasing… I’m sure it’s probably not a solidly scientific measurement, but I think it gives you some idea of what is happening in there and a better understanding of your body.
Anyway, I’m going to end this by tagging a hideous selfie of me that I took on September 3rd last year - a couple of months before I was diagnosed. I had just gotten off of the train on my way home from the office. As you can see, my face is literally pouring with sweat - I am soaked. I struggle with warm temperatures and had been experiencing this kind of meltdown after every train ride home. I’m of that age where women get flashes - but I also wonder looking back if it was diabetes doing a number on me? It’s hard to know - but I know it was around this time that I started wanting to do something about my weight and health in general. By Mid November, I had my diabetes diagnosis.
I feel I have come a long way since that picture already. And although there is a bloody long way to go, there is hope.
The second pic was taken 6th of Jan - a lot better! I must take another picture for comparison when I next put my makeup on.
Have a good week all.
