Mounjaro Monday - Week 17 update.

Howdy!

This week starts with a 2lb weight gain, I’m afraid. But I’m not troubled by it.

Weight loss is not a simple downhill slope. It has ups and downs, stops and starts… all part of the process. I don’t think there’s any particular reason for it - I’m still in a calorie deficit, still moving more. I think that sometimes it is a case of the body adjusting and holding on to its resources, waiting to see if you quit - it’s just a matter of ploughing on until the body accepts the situation and releases more resources.
I also see on my body composition scales that my water levels, skeletal muscle and protein levels have all increased a bit. All of that, coupled with some mild constipation, is enough to sway the scales in the wrong direction.

Strangely enough, I feel trimmer - and my family noted that my weight loss is visible over the weekend. Overall, it’s not worth stressing over 2lbs!

Mounjaro symptom-wise, I have been a bit constipated. This is nothing unusual - but I think I need to increase my water intake and try and get a bit more fibre. Easy fixes.

I have had a couple of migraines in the last week - that has meant fewer trips to the gym and a couple of very lazy days. However, I have managed to get a lot of steps in thanks to having to go to the office. I was feeling better yesterday, so it was back to the gym and a lovely 10k step walk in the sunshine. I actually think my muscles benefited from a few days rest. Sometimes you just have to listen to your body and go with the flow. Rest when you need to, move when you can.

Next Monday will mark 6 months since starting this mission to undo years of morbid obesity and get diabetes under control. I have come a long way in those six months - that’s what it’s all about, the long game.

I hope you all have a great week. Thanks as always for all of your support - and apologies for being hopeless with replies and engagement on other threads.

Hi you :star: great to see it’s still going well @Katetype2, in your case obviously your doing great things on the exercise & strength work at the same time, so maybe some weeks the reduction in weight will be less / none and this week a +2Lb gain

the time flys by as the weight comes off doesn’t it, it certainly has for you

you mentioned side effects of MJ, I’ve noticed one recently for myself (as others have) I’m burping a fair bit recently, so I need to take a look into why also I know that im a bit dehydrated so will up my water intake

Weight is bound to fluctuate as 2lbs is just less than 1kg and l litre of water weighs 1kg so the 2lbs can be accounted for by 1 fewer loo visit and 1 more glass of water.

Glad to hear that you are not letting the up and down blips on your weight loss worry you. Your long term trend over the last six months is amazing. Keep us posted with your progress.

The small gain is nothing compared to the amazing overall weight loss @Katetype2 - great job 🙂
