Mounjaro Monday - Week 14 update.

Hello All,

I hope you are all enjoying the Easter bank holidays. I’ve very much enjoyed having a few days off.

This week has been pretty good. I’ve finally hit the 4 stone mark, which I’m chuffed with. A 2.2lb loss.

Easter is a bit of a weird time to be a diabetic on a weight loss mission. I do miss the eggs, and the hot cross buns even more so. I know I could have a bit - but I’m not good with moderation. It’s always been a slippery slope for me. However, now that I’m back in the normal blood sugar range, I am slightly less restrictive. I will have a very small portion of rice (usually with a microwave meal when I’m busy) or a flavoured yogurt these days. All within my calorie limits. Still fairly strict but a little bit more relaxed.

Mounjaro symptoms wise - nothing to report this week. I don’t feel big appetite suppression, but I’m still managing to control my food and the weight is moving, so I shall plod on with 5mg. I can recommend the app Shotsy for anyone taking Mounjaro, Ozempic etc - helps you to track it all.

I’ve done plenty of exercise this week. Weight lifting class was good. I’ve been on some lovely walks in the sunshine.

I hope you all have a great week x

Well done @Katetype2 another milestone to celebrate. Your determination to succeed is inspiring. <3:party:

I do not wish to hijack your excellent news or your fantastic weight loss @Katetype2 - well done you!

However I saw a comment in yesterday's newsfeed on my laptop where Gemma Collins was moaning about 'the terrible side effect of Mounjaro that she says they don't warn you about' - oh blimey thought I, what terrible side effect is this, I'd better read it, so I did. Apparently she's lost fat from her face and says it makes her look terribly old. I burst out laughing.

Welcome to the Real World, Gemma! My whole life whenever I've tried to lose weight the very first bit of me that loses it, is my face but I have to ignore that and just carry on dieting until several months later other bits of me catch up and lose their fat too.

Never hits the bits I dislike most, first, for me.

So - where have you lost it from and are you happy with it?

Can I ask how much you think the Mounjaro has contributed to your weight loss and how much is your own excellent willpower? I only ask because I'm 5 weeks into taking Mounjaro now and have just increased to a 5mg dose but can honestly say I haven't really noticed any appetite reduction and the food 'noise' in my head is still as loud as ever most days. I also haven't lost a single pound :(

I guess I have to keep increasing the dosage but, at the moment, it's feeling like a HUGE waste of money.

Ha ha that's quite hilarious isn't it!! I wonder if she seriously thought her face fat would remain plump??

Can i say your updates are a comfite to me as i am discussing this at my app tomorrow or rather i have been told by ANP that they want to discuss it

Thank you!
Yes - I think weight loss in general can make you look a bit older. But I’m ready to embrace that gracefully
I have definitely lost weight from my abdomen - visibly so. I think a general layer of lard has come off most places - I can’t complain.

Hello. I’m sorry for the very late response. I think the majority of weight loss is down to the dietary changes I have made and sticking religiously to my calorie goals. I don’t get huge amounts of appetite suppression either, but I think it’s just enough to help me stick to my new way of eating.
