Mounjaro Monday - Week 13 update

Hiya,

After last week’s hump, I have slightly better news today. The scales shifted a couple of lbs!

Weight is still fluctuating quite a lot. At one point on Saturday I was about 4 and a half lbs down, but it went up again the next day. It’s just the way things seem to be at the moment. Still, I’m happy with a 2.8lb loss.

I wasn’t feeling too good for a few days. I went to my weight lifting class on Wednesday, but had a bit of a funny turn - too hot and feeling sickly. My stomach then proceeded to gurgle and churn for a couple of days, which is very unusual for me. It could be Mounjaro related, as the drug can slow down digestion etc. I’ve also felt tired. Just a bit off.
Back to normal now I think.

Got a few days off coming up this week, so I plan to get active and get out in the fresh air of the weather permits. Got to distract myself from all the Easter eggs on TV, in the supermarket and seemingly everywhere I turn haha!

If anyone has any questions about my diabetes, my weight loss or Mounjaro experience please do ask and I will try to answer - I really want to be able to help any new people by sharing my experiences. I know that this can be a scary disease and it can feel very isolating in the beginning. I am no expert but from personal experience, seeing how other people deal with it all made a big difference to my own mindset, mental health and choices.

Hope you all have a lovely bank holiday weekend. Thanks as always for the support and big apologies for the lack of engagement with replies lately. I will work on that.

SW: 23st 2lb (18/10/24)
CW: 19st 4.2
Total loss: 3st 11.8lbs (was almost 50lbs on Saturday, sigh).
Total lost since starting Mounjaro on 13/01/25: 2st 1.8lbs. This means I am averaging about 2.3lb week since starting Mounjaro - so I really need to stop moaning and realise that it is working haha!
Overall average since starting is 2.69lb a week.

Congratulations on your weight loss this week and persevering when things weren't going so well last week. It is hard to keep pushing through it when things don't keep going in the right direction so I am really pleased for you that you have a loss to report this week even if you did feel a bit off at the gym. Hope it was just some minor bug that you shake off quickly or as you say, perhaps just some food sitting in your stomach waiting to be digested and your body not feeling comfortable about that whilst trying to exercise. Fingers crossed that you get some more positive results next week too.

Yes, I know what you mean about all the chocolate eggs and adverts for it everywhere. It is hard to avoid being exposed to the temptation, but you are doing so incredibly well and you know that accomplishment and change in your body feels really satisfying too and will continue to feel satisfying long after those chocolate eggs are gone.

You have had some amazing results @Katetype2 on Mounjaro
the effort you have put in through the exercise, is paying off, it’s not easy though so well done

One thing I think others can hopefully pick up is you call it Mounjaro Monday
that shows you are following the recommendation to take it once a week

myself I’ve occasionally deviated from the every 7 day routine (and it’s easy to then think when did I take it last etc)

so :star:<3 to you
Keep it up and keep sharing

Good to hear it is still working for you, even if your tummy was protesting a little.
