And to you, too, Andy

Yes, a very warm welcome to the Club - though we're sorry to hear you've had to join us!

But you've certainly come to the right place. The policy here is that no question, no matter how naive it may seem to you, is ruled out.

So ask away and the answers will come rolling in.

People here are so helpful - and we've all been where you are now!

Good morning and welcome to the forum Andy

Hi Andy, welcome to the forum 🙂

There's a lot to take in at the start. Have a look in the Recommended books and links sections. Links to look out for are Jennifer's smart advice and Maggie Davey's letter to the newly-diagnosed.

One book that is particularly popular with a lot of the people here is Type 2 Diabetes: The First Year - An Essential Guide for the Newly Diagnosed by Gretchen Becker

Look forward to hearing more about you 🙂

Hi andyg30,

Welcome to the forum - this is the place to be!

I'm a Type 2 myself who was diagnosed over nine years ago. After that I got worse for eight years. However, after arriving at these diabetes forums, I have learnt how to sort out my situation. These days it's likely that they would say I wasn't even affected by diabetes.

It is my experience that a great deal is possible just through making dietary changes!

Best wishes - John

Hi Andy, welcome to the forum.

And a warm welcome from me too.

Hi Andy, and welcome.

I was looking at the book recommended by Northerner and before ordering from Amazon I checked with my library. They have quite a few copies in stock so I have reserved one on-line and hopefully will be able to pick up at weekend. From the link above I was able to read the first few pages but want to see more before buying.
