Morning everyone

Hi @Preload and welcome to the forum - there is a vast amount of experience on here, so please feel free to ask any questions you may have - nothing is considered "silly" or trivial - glad you have found us

Hi and welcome.

Would you like to tell us a bit about your diabetes journey?

Things like:-

How long you have been diagnosed and how that came about? ie. Were you symptomatic or was it discovered via a routine blood test?
What if any medication have you been prescribed for it and how are you managing with that?
Do you know your latest HbA1c result? This is the blood test used to diagnose and monitor your diabetes management and will usually be a number in excess of 47mmols/mol.
Have you made any dietary changes to help manage your diabetes and if so what are they?
Do you need to lose much/any weight?

Please don't feel obliged to answer any of those questions if you don't feel comfortable doing so, but the more info you can give us, the more appropriate replies to any questions you have, will be. Diabetes can be surprisingly individual, so having an idea of your particular situation helps us tailor our responses to you as an individual.

Hi. I don't like given out certain information as I find for every one good suggestion they'll be ten saying something else so counter productive. Nothing personal intended and thanks for the concern

@Preload welcome to the forum and I am sure you will get the answers to all your questions here. As a relatively new member myself, four months and counting I would not have made the progress I have with the management of my diabetes without the help and support I received from the people on the forums. A key feature of the forums I have found is that they are non-judgemental and the advice and guidance is provided to help or suggest changes not to tell you what to do.

This is mostly because diabetes is so individual. What suits one person, doesn't always work for another, but absolutely respect your right to privacy.

Welcome to the forum @Preload
Tell us what you are happy to tell. It can help us give more informed answers if we know how you manage your diabetes, but equally well, ask your questions and sift the answers for what you want/need.

Welcome to the forum @Preload

Ask away with questions, and only share as much about yourself as you are comfortable with.

We have literally centuries of lived diabetes experience on the forum, and lots of different people finding their own unique combinations of menu, meds, activity, and lifestyle adjustments to suit their own particular diabetes and circumstances. There are some common threads, but there certainly isn’t a one-size-fits-all way of doing things 🙂

Hello @Preload and welcome to the forum. Most of us started with little or no knowledge of the daily issues of living with diabetes.

Unfortunately health care professionals don't have the time to explain all the ins and outs. I was fairly lucky, given a few leaflets and directed to this website and forum. This was followed up by regular reviews where I could ask some questions.

Some people on here were notified by text and left to get on with it. The folks on here have been very supportive and informative, making my journey to manage my T2 much easier and allying many of my initial fears and concerns.
