Hi guys I just want some advice... as you know i'm not on insulin.

Right now i'm sitting at a comfortable 7.9 but I know when I wake up it will have jumped to 10ish? or will do once i'm up. Is this what they call dawn phenomenon? and how can I get around this when i'm not on meds?

Thanks! Its quite fustrating. I wish I knew what my sugars were doing, I was at 18 four hours ago.

Liz, I don't think you should be continuing at those sorts of levels without consultation with your doctor. Some kind of medication regime seems necessary because your body should not be returning double figure numbers - you need some assistance to help get them down. Time to start pestering the doctors, I think!

wow Liz - how did you get from 18 to 7.9 with no medication??!!

For what it's worth, I agree with alan - it sounds like you need to be doing something else so a trip back to the doctors would be a great place to start.

Good luck 🙂

I'm thinking perhaps I should re-adjust my diet for a bit, being at home always takes it toll and i'm back at uni on sunday. I don't usually eat gluten free food but when i'm at home theres more (mums coeliac too) so I do.. and I know that it really doesn't agree with me. Also going to cut out caffiene as i've been drinking coffee when i've been out lately. I know that doesn't agree with me.

Am due bloods back in Reading (at uni) so I guess i'll see how they go. It wouldn't surprise me if my Hba1c is slightly higher but still not showing much... if it is i'm certainly going to push MODY diagnosis or get refered to someone who knows what they are doing.

Are there such things as pancreas hurry uppers? 😉
