ONE in three Australian adults has high cholesterol but only one in 10 knows it.
That means more than five million Australian adults have high cholesterol, according to biomedical information collected by the Australian Bureau of Statistics.
The ABS compared biomedical results with self-assessments of health to enable a better understanding of the extent of cardiovascular disease, diabetes and chronic kidney function in Australia.
A total of 11,248 Australians participated in the survey providing blood and urine samples to be tested.
